IRSC Men’s Basketball Overcome Halftime Deficit to Defeat Palm Beach State

Palm Beach, Florida – Poor shooting in the first half and some missed defensive assignments allowed the Palm Beach State Men to take a 43-36 halftime lead.  Indian River State College (IRSC) found themselves down as many as 10 points in the second half before rallying and tying the score at 55. Antrell Charlton came up big in the final minutes of the contest hitting back-to-back three-point shots giving the Pioneers a 64-60 advantage.  IRSC was able to convert from the free-throw line and went on to a 74-67 victory.  The win moved their record to 5-0 and 1-0 in the Southern Conference.

The Pioneers were led in scoring by Abdoulaye Thiam with 15, Charlton 14, Tanahj Pettway 13 and Bryce Fitzgerald tossed in 12 points in the win.  Charlton also came up big on the rebounding side of things by pulling in a game high 12 rebounds.  IRSC has a tough week ahead with a home game against State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., and they will be on the road Saturday when they travel to Fort Meyers, Florida, to take on Florida Southwestern for a noon tip.
