IRSC’s Miles Coleman Named To NJCAA All-American Team
Fort Pierce, Florida – Miles Coleman picked up another award this week when he was named to the 2019-2020 Men's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I All-American Honorable Mention Team. The 6'6" shooting gurad helped lead Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team to a 22-8 overall and 11-1 conference record, a Southern Conference Championship, and a trip to the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Men's Basketball State Tournament. Coleman was named Southern Conference Player of the Year and was a member of the Florida Region 8 All-State Team. "I am really proud of Miles and his accomplishments, he was a big reason for our success this season," stated IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson.
Coleman scored 546 points for a 18.8 ppg average in his one year at IRSC which ranked him third in the state of Florida. He led the Pioneers in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals. He scored a season high 32 points against ASA (Miami) and scored 20 or more points in 14 games.
Coleman was a high school standout at Dwyer High School and spent one season at Santa Fe College before transferring to IRSC. Coleman will play NCAA Division I basketball next season when he suits up for New Jersey Institute of Technology who competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
