Pioneers Defeat ASA, Win Streak Still Alive

Fort Pierce, Florida – ASA College (Miami) scored the first two points of the game on Wednesday evening, but that would be their only lead of the contest.  The Pioneers quickly built a 13-4 lead on a Miles Coleman jumpshot with 15:20 remaining in the first half.  The margin ballooned to 22 when Jai Clark got lose at the top of the key for a three-point basket, one of his six three-point baskets in the game, making the score 41-19.  Indian River State College (IRSC) went into the half with 26spoint advantage, 50-24. 

The Pioneer were able to keep ASA at bay in the second half as they cruised on to a 90-78 victory.  The win increased their record to 17-6 and 6-0 in the Southern Conference.  IRSC's win streak is 13, one of the longest win streaks in the last few seasons.  Scoring leaders for the Pioneers were Coleman 24, Clark 19, Antrell Charlton 11, and Drew LaMont added nine points for cause.  IRSC will be back in action on February 1st, for a tough Southern Conference match-up when they travel to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to take on Broward College.  The game will begin at 4 p.m.
