Pioneers Score 111 In Victory

Fort Pierce, Florida – The Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team defeated Florida National JV 111-76.  IRSC took control of the game early and built a 39-11 advantage with just under 10 minutes to go in the first half and never looked back.  The Pioneers went into the locker-room at halftime with a 58-32 advantage.

The second half was no different for IRSC as they broke the century mark with 3:18 left on the clock when Nathan Outten drove the middle and hit a nice pull-up jump shot, making the lead 30 points, 100-70.  The Pioneers cruised on to a 111-76 win and increased their record to 6-6 overall.

It was a good opportunity to allow some of the reserve players get needed experience.  IRSC had six players score double figures with Jai Clark leading the way with 18 points, Linton Brown added 17, DeJuan Lockett 16, Nathan Outten and Tadre Morse with 12, and Tanahj Pettway and Mekhi Speller-Hale added 11 each.  Morse and Brown combined for 17 rebounds and A.J. Cajuste dished out 9 assists.

IRSC will host Hillsborough College Saturday December 7th for a 2 p.m. tip off.
