Central Florida Defeats IRSC

Fort Pierce, Florida – The Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team got off to a slow start against Central Florida on Tuesday night and were never fully able to recover.  The Pioneers found themselves down 7-0 in the early part of the game and 23-8 with just under 13 minutes to go in the contest.  IRSC kept attacking the basket and closed the half down 53-44.

IRSC keep the score close in the second half and kept the margin to single digits, but were never able to take the lead, eventually losing 89-80.  Central Florida shot 53% from the field while the Pioneers were only able to connect at 44%.  Central Florida's quickness and length were an issue throughout the game, they forced IRSC into 20 turnovers and outrebounded them by 37-31.

The Pioneers were led in scoring by Miles Coleman with 21, Jai Clark 12, Drew LaMont 12, and DeJuan Lockett with 10 points.  Lockett also pulled in 5 rebounds.  The loss dropped IRSC's record to 3-2 on the season.  They will be in action on Saturday, November 16th at 2 p.m. when they travel to Winter Haven, Florida, to take on Polk State College.
