The Indian River State College Men’s Basketball Team Drops Conference Game to Palm Beach State College

IRSC stayed close throughout the first half on the inside scoring of 6'5" forward Andrew Anderson (Brampton, Ontario) who scored 10 of his 14 points in the first half.  Palm Beach took a 36-34 lead into halftime and the Pioneers were never able to get back on track.  "Turnovers and allowing too many offensive rebounds really hurt us today," stated IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson.  "If we want to beat the really good teams we have to learn to take care of the basketball and do a better job of blocking out."  The Pioneers were out rebounded 46-32.

 

Willy Nunez (6'6" Guard, Orlando, FL) led IRSC in scoring with 22 points followed by Anderson with 14, Elijah Farley (5'8" Guard, Orlando, FL) had 13, and Joshua Oliver (6'8" forward, Jacksonville, FL) chipped in 11.  The loss dropped the Pioneers record to 15-7 and 6-4 in the conference.
