Pioneers Take Down Florida Southwestern

Pioneers Take Down Florida Southwestern

FORT PIERCE, FL - Indian River takes down nationally ranked Florida Southwestern (FSW) in non-conference play 15-6. This is the fourth straight win for the Pioneers. A six-run third inning for Indian River seemed to be the deciding factor in this mid-week action. Sophomore Jace Trautner gets his second win on the season striking out three over four innings of work. Freshman Justin Minaberry strikes out five of the seven batters he would face to finish the game for the Pioneers.

Offensively Indian River clicked on all cylinders. Eight Pioneers had hits, seven had RBIS, four had extra base hits including Vincent Samuel's HR and three different Pioneers had stolen bases. This was a big momentum game for Indian River as FSW took the early series from them and extending a their win streak to four.

The Pioneers have one more non-conference game tomorrow at home against South Florida State before heading into Citrus Conference play this Thursday, March 21.
