Bats Stay Hot in Pioneers Win

FORT PIERCE, FL - Indian River State easily dispatched Keiser University on Wednesday 10-1. Pioneers opened up scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to three singles. Sophomore, Matthew Rubin continues to swing a hot bat driving in one and scoring one in the first.

Angelo Smith earned the win for the Pioneers. The University of Central Florida commit surrendered one hit and no runs over two innings of work. Sammy Bier, Chris Knier, Michael Malone, Justin Minaberry and Jace Trautner each threw a scoreless inning in relief for the Pioneers.

Indian River tallied 13 hits in the game. Jacob Weatherspoon led the Pioneers with three hits including a double. Brice Montiel with his first action of the year led the team in RBIS with three. AJ Hunerberg and Matthew Rubin also had multi hit game for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers look to continue their winning streak on the road Friday, February 2, in Melbourne against Eastern Florida. First pitch is set for 1:00pm.
