Indian River Surges Past State College of Florida

BRADENTON, FL - Indian River State College looks to bring home their first win of the season in their fourth game in three days. The Pioneers scored five runs in the seventh inning, which helped them defeat National Ranked State College of Florida 9-0 on Sunday. Freshman pitchers Lucas Glendinning and Andris Barroso combined for the Pioneers first shutout of the year only allowing four hits.

Glendinning get his collegiate career off to a hot start only giving up two hits over four innings, striking out six earning his first career win. Scout Simpson joins the group of freshmen collecting his first hit of his career.

Danny Baez and Brett Patten continued to have success Sunday both with multi-hit and multi-RBI game. Through the first four games the Pioneers have scored 34 runs a strong start for the offence looking to continue success at the plate leading up to conference.

 

Pioneers will be back in action Wednesday, January 31st against Kesier University on Mike Easom Field.
