Indian River State College Pioneers Claims Lead in Eighth Inning to Defeat Santa Fe

Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity ran off with the lead late in the game in a 12-8 victory over Santa Fe  Saints on Sunday.  The game was tied at eight with Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity batting in the top of the eighth when Troy Hamilton drew a walk, scoring one run.

Michael Montes led Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity to victory by driving in five runs.  Montes went 3-for-4 at the plate.  Montes drove in runs on a double in the first, a single in the sixth, and a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
