IRSC's offense could not get dialed in all day against Eastern Florida in game 1 of the series. Eastern Florida took an early lead in the 2nd inning and never relinquished it back to the Pioneers. The final score was 5-3. The River managed only 5 hits on the day, 2 of which came by the bat of Freshman Catcher Axel Salgado. Salgado and Cole Brutcher were the only 2 Pioneers to drive in runs on the day, they both drove in one a piece.
Niels Stone received back to back starts for The River. Stone was impressive on Wednesday as he went 6 strong innings striking out 6 and only allowing 1 unearned run. Eli Finney threw the final 2 innings after Stone exited.
