Alintoff Shines as The River Takes Game 2 Against Miami Dade

Runs were at a premium in Friday afternoon's game between The River and Miami Dade.  IRSC had the perfect guy on the mound for a pitcher's duel.  Justin Alintoff got the nod in game 2 for The River and he did not disappoint.  Alintoff went 6.2 innings and struck out 6 batters while only giving up 1 run in a winning effort 3-1 over Dade.  Alintoff picked up his 2nd win of the year and dropped his ERA to an astounding 2.84 in 38 total innings this season.  Christian O'Kelly came on in relief to earn his 3rd save of the season.  O'Kelly pitched the final 2.1 innings where he struck out 3 and allowed 1 hit.

The River offense was led by Axel Salagado who had some crucial at bats during the game.  Salgado went 2-4 with a double and an RBI.  AJ Hrica picked up the only other RBI in the game with a sac fly.  The offense did a great job working counts and finding their way on base.  Miami Dade surrendered a total of 9 walks to the patient Pioneer hitters.  AJ Hrica drew 3 walks, Hunter Holland drew 2, and Danny Camilo also drew 2.
