The River's Snyder selected by the Texas Rangers

The River's Snyder selected by the Texas Rangers

Nick Snyder received an exciting phone call Wednesday as the sophomore, from Stuart, Fl, was selected in the 19th round by The Texas Rangers in the 2017 Major League Draft.

Snyder spent the entire year at shortstop, serving as the anchor for the teams infield. Snyder was recognized as the Florida NJCAA Defensive Player of the year and was known for his exceptional arm strength.

As a shortstop Snyder hit 305, scored 40 runs, and fielded an impressive .971.  Snyder had limited time on the mound while serving as the River's defensive anchor. Nick did enough to impress scouts with his arm strength and athleticism, that the Texas Ranger made him the 584th player selected, as a pitcher.

Snyder is on track to graduate with his Associates degree this summer and has signed a letter of intent with Tusculum College.
