Rolling on the River

Rolling on the River

Indian River baseball wins their third game out of their last four over Miami-Dade by a score of 5-3.

The River has been playing clean baseball down the stretch and is being rewarded with victories. Tuesday's game saw Elijah Finney and Andres Fernandez combine for the complete game allowing just two earned runs to the potent Shark lineup. The two forced the Shark offense to swing the bats all afternoon and received a stellar defensive performance from their teammates behind them.

A good team performance was the theme of the offense as well as Indian River had five different players record a multi-hit game. The relentless Pioneer offense put pressure on their opponent all day long with base runners in every inning and limited their strikeout total.

The win is the second in a row against Miami-Dade with a chance for a third straight victory coming Thursday at 3pm. The Pioneers send George Helbig to the mound in hopes of securing a fourth win in five tries and pulling them into a fourth place tie in the conference standings.
