Too little too late for Pioneer baseball

Too little too late for Pioneer baseball

Pioneers took on Palm Beach State College Friday in Fort Pierce. This was the first home matchup between the two and proved to be an exciting one. The base paths saw a ton of action in this matchup with 15 runners crossing the plate, leading to an 8-7 Panthers victory.

The Pioneers ended up leaving 12 runners in scoring position and 14 on base in total. The offense started to cash in those base runners late, scoring three runs in the 5th and 8th innings and another in the 9th, but it ended up being too late as they came up one run short to force extra innings. The Panthers on the other hand, made the most of their opportunities cashing in on 8 of their 12 runners that reached scoring position.

In the end the Panthers took the win and Andres Fernandez and the Pioneers fall. The Pioneers will take on the Panthers again on Saturday in Lake Worth at 1:00pm with Brando Centrone taking the hill.
