George Helbig threw a complete game allowing just 1 earned run on 7 hits. However, the offense could only manage to scratch across one run off of the Raiders pitching staff, leading to the 2-1 final. The Raiders scored the eventual winning run on a high chopper over third base allowing the run to score from 2nd base. Another bright spot for the Pioneers other than the outstanding performance by Helbig, was the 2-4 performance by Kohl Gilmore who continues to swing a hot bat.
