IRSC Athletes Prove To Be The “TOTAL PACKAGE”

IRSC Athletes Prove To Be The “TOTAL PACKAGE”

FORT PIERCE, FL - Some may argue successful, winning programs cannot be successful in the classroom as well.  Indian River State College's Athletic Department continues to defy the odds and prove that success can be achieved both in the classroom and on the field, in the pool and on the court.

After a highly successful Fall 2023 term with a department wide grade point average of 3.29, THE RIVER athletes attacked the Spring 2024 semester with the same prowess, checking in with a 3.13 GPA for the term.  With 133 athletes, the success in the classroom is highly impressive and can be attributed to the annual goals and expectations set forth for the coaches and athletes to achieve.  It takes an entire department "buy-in" for accomplishments such as this to take place and all are to be commended.

Not only have the teams had success in the classroom, but six of the seven sports teams qualified for post-season play.  Additionally, the Men's Swimming and Diving program secured their 50th consecutive NJCAA National Championship, the Women's Swimming and Diving program won their 46th NJCAA National Championship, and, most recently, the Baseball program won the first ever Citrus Conference Championship.  Baseball is currently ranked #1 in the FCSAA polls and #13 in the NJCAA polls, while Softball is currently ranked #3 in the FCSAA polls and #7 in the NJCAA polls.
