The River Wraps Up Regular Season Play on the Road

WEST COAST, FL - The River Volleyball team closed out the regular season with a two-match road trip over the weekend, facing State College of Florida on October 24 and St. Petersburg College on October 25.

On Friday, The River battled through a competitive four-set contest against the Manatees of State College of Florida. After taking the opening set 25-19, The River continued to challenge SCF in each frame, but the Manatees held off several late surges to take the next three sets (18-25, 23-25, 23-25). Strong defensive play and long rallies kept the match close throughout, as The River pushed SCF deep into every set before falling just short in the final points.

The following day, The River traveled to St. Petersburg, FL to take on the St. Petersburg College Titans. Despite a steady effort, the Titans controlled the match from the start, taking the win in straight sets (18-25, 21-25, 12-25). The River showed determination through extended rallies and defensive scrappiness, but the Titans' offense proved too consistent to overcome.

With these results, The River finished conference play with a 9–11 record and an overall mark of 10–13, securing a 6th-place finish out of 11 teams. The River has officially punched its ticket to postseason play and will now shift focus to the FCSAA Division II Volleyball Championship — hosted right here at Indian River State College on November 7–8.
