The River Rallies Past South Florida State
AVON PARK, FL – The River volleyball team showed grit and composure on the road Wednesday night, rallying after a slow start to take down South Florida State College in four sets. The River dropped the opening frame 21-25 before finding their rhythm and powering through the next three, winning 25-13, 25-11, 25-23.
After a tight first set, The River responded with dominant play in sets two and three, fueled by aggressive serving and a strong presence at the net. Consistent passing allowed the offense to open up, and The River's energy on both sides of the ball swung the match in their favor.
South Florida State battled late in the fourth, but The River's defense held firm down the stretch to secure the road victory and another key conference win.
The River returns home for Sophomore Night on Thursday, October 16, marking the team's final regular-season home match before postseason play. With playoff implications on the line, The River is on the cusp of punching their ticket and looks to finish strong in front of their home crowd. First serve is set for 5:00 PM at Massey Campus - Gymnasium.
