River Swimmers Compete at the 1st Annual Florida Tech Classic

MELBOURNE, FL - The River men's and women's swimming teams recently competed in Melbourne at the 1st Annual Florida Tech Classic on Friday, October 24th, where The River showed their strength competing against NCAA DII schools and former NAIA champions.

Swimmers competed in 17 events, with both the men's and women's teams each walking away with 12 event wins.

Individual event wins for the women came from Paulina Chavis (400 IM and 100 free), Wiktoria Maciuszek (100 back), Khloe de Santana Guidry (100 breast), Tazmyn Robson (200/100 free), Kelly Zwart (100 fly), Paola Negrin (200 IM), and Cara Ralfe (200 breast). The women also secured a clean sweep of the three relay events contested, with Amelia Brown, Zwart, Robson, and de Santana Guidry taking the 200 and 400 free relays, while Maciuszek, de Santana Guidry, Zwart, and Brown teamed up to win the 200 medley relay.

On the men's side, the team took the win in the 200 free relay with Victor Gil, Noah Smith, Marcus Johnson, and Brayden Hunt. The other relay win came in the 200 medley relay with Smith, Johnson, Zack Gresham, and Gil.

Individual wins came from Knut Robinson (500 and 100 free), Victor Gil (100 breast), Matias Tapia (400 and 100 IM), Noah Smith (100/200 back), Marcus Johnson (100/200 breast), and Zack Gresham (100 fly).
