IRSC Women’s Basketball Defeats #17 Florida Southwestern

Wednesday evening in Fort Pierce, Indian River State College host Florida Southwestern in the third round of the Southern Conference play. In the first two matchups, FSW won both defeating The River 59 – 55 in the first round and 63-33 in the second round. "the first two times we played FSW we felt like we didn't put it all together, tonight I believe we did what was needed to walk away with a win" Coach Robinson noted.

In the third round, the Pioneers defeated FSW 63 – 62, led by Sophomore Shooting Guard Maryanne Logsdon who hit two 3 pointers to bring the Pioneers within 1 point with 15 seconds left. Maryanne led all scorers with 22 points, three rebounds and three assists. Breanna Campbell added 13 points and five rebounds, Tavi Habib contributed 12 points and seven rebounds.

With the win, The River extend their winning streak to four games, with an impressive home record of 12 – 1, overall record 19 – 8. The Pioneers is looking to earn their 20th win at Miami Dade Tuesday February 21st at 5:30pm.
