High Scoring Third Quarter Powers IRSC Past HCC

Wednesday evening in Fort Pierce, Indian River State College Women's Basketball host Hillsborough Community College in a Southern Conference matchup. In the first half HCC controlled the pace outscoring The River 20 – 15. In the second half IRSC settled in offensively, taking a one point led going into halftime. In the third quarter, the River came out on fire scoring a season high 42 points, 15 of those points was scored by Caylin Moment who hit 5 threes', she finished the night scoring 23 points. The Pioneers would go on to win 96 – 74 to earn their 5th conference win.

Five Players contributed offensively in double digits for The River, Maryanne Logsdon added 20 points shooting an impressive 6 for 8 from the 3pt line, she added seven rebounds and three assists. Breanna Campbell added 16 points, 14 assist and six rebounds. Sophomore Aniyah Jenkins scored 15 points and 11 rebounds. Tavi Habib scored 11 points and 11 rebounds.

With the win, the Pioneers are 18 – 8 on the season and 5 – 2 in conference play. Their next game will be Wednesday evening February 16th against Florida Southwestern at 5:30pm.
