IRSC Women’s Basketball defeats Palm Beach

Wednesday evening in Fort Pierce, Indian River State College had a non-conference matchup against Palm Beach State College. In the first quarter, The River battled back and forth with the Panthers going into second quarter only up by 1 point. In the second quarter, the Pioneers held Palm Beach to a single digit quarter only giving up 7 points. Going into halftime the River led 38 – 23, putting the Panthers away for good. Palm Beach cut the led to 14 points but the River would sustain their run to pick up their 16^th win of the season 81 – 50^th.

Aniyah Jenkins scored a season high of 21 points and 16 rebounds, Tavi Habib added 21 points and 8 rebounds. Maryanne Logsdon added 16 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds.

With the win The Pioneers are 16 – 8 on the season, their next game will be Saturday February 5^th against Miami Dade College at 2pm.
