IRSC Women’s Basketball defeats Palm Beach

Wednesday evening in Fort Pierce, Indian River State College had a non-conference matchup against Palm Beach State College. In the first quarter, The River battled back and forth with the Panthers going into second quarter only up by 1 point. In the second quarter, the Pioneers held Palm Beach to a single digit quarter only giving up 7 points. Going into halftime the River led 38 – 23, putting the Panthers away for good. Palm Beach cut the led to 14 points but the River would sustain their run to pick up their 16th win of the season 81 – 50th.

Aniyah Jenkins scored a season high of 21 points and 16 rebounds, Tavi Habib added 21 points and 8 rebounds. Maryanne Logsdon added 16 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds.

With the win The Pioneers are 16 – 8 on the season, their next game will be Saturday February 5th against Miami Dade College at 2pm.
