Women’s Basketball Win Big against Florida National

Wednesday night Indian River State College defeated Florida National University JV 100 – 40. The Pioneers jumped out to an 18 – 0 lead and never looked back. This is the first time under coach Robinson Era the Pioneers scored 100 points, holding FNU to only 14 points at halftime.  

"Tonight, we wanted to come out and work on our stuff and get defensive stops, I believe we did that" Coach Robinson noted.

The River was led in scoring by Sophmore Maryanne Logsdon who tallied 29 points, four rebounds and seven assists. Sophomore Caylin Moment made her return on the court after missing nine games she contributed 15 points and six rebounds. Freshmen Tavi Habib tallied another double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, she also added 5 assists. Shomari Phillips scored 12 points and seven rebounds.

With the Win the Pioneers are currently 6 – 4, their next game is Saturday at home against Johnson University at 2:00pm.
