Women's Basketball Defeat Broward College

Wednesday evening in Fort Pierce, Indian River State College women's basketball program earned their second conference win when they defeated Broward College 81-51. In what seem would be a competitive game the River went into halftime up 35-26. In the start of the third Broward College closed the gap to 3 points before Indian River pulled away for good. The Pioneers went on to outscore Broward 46 – 25 in the last two halves.

Sophomore guard Loni Sales led all scorers with 17 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Je'Nya Wilder added 10 points and five rebounds. Freshmen point guard Breanna Campbell contributed 10 points and three steals. Maryanne Logsdon added 9 points, four rebounds and two steals.

"Tonight we came out and executed on both ends of the floor, we knew we needed to defend at a high level and we did that. We also shot the basketball well making 10 3's and shooting 75% from the free throw line," Coach Robinson mentioned.

The win moves their record to 12-9 and 2-1 in Southern Conference play. The River will be back in action on Saturday, January 18 when they travel to Miami Dade College for a 2p.m tip-off.
