IRSC women’s basketball picks up first Conference win

Saturday afternoon, Indian River State College women's basketball team traveled to The Bucky Dent to face ASA Miami. In the first quarter the River jumped out to a 12-point lead and never looked back, IRSC Women's Basketball earned their first conference win 69 – 46.

Sophomore guard Loni Sales came off the bench scoring 20 points and four rebounds. Loni was very efficient in her scoring abilities shooting 50 % from the field and 55% from beyond the Arc. Je'Nya Wilder added 11 points and four rebounds and Marnicha Prudent contributed 10 points and four rebounds.

"Anytime we can go on the road and shoot the ball well that's a plus for us, this game we wanted to lock in on the defense end and I believe we did just that. We held ASA to 18 points in the second half which helped us create easy scoring opportunities," Coach Robinson Mentioned."

The River will be back in action at home Wednesday January 15 at 5:30 against Broward College.
