The River Wins All Events to Defeat St. Thomas

FORT PIERCE, FL - The River swimmers and divers were back in action at the Anne Wilder Aquatic Center on Friday, October 17, for a meet against the St. Thomas University Bobcats.

The competition saw both the men's and women's teams from Indian River win all events contested, with eight women and nine men picking up individual event wins. These came from Marie Kopacova (1650 free/200 back), Kelly Zwart (200 free/100 fly), Khloe de Santana Guidry (100 breast/100 free), Paola Negrin (200 fly/200 IM), Tazmyn Robson (50/500 free), Jada Toland (1m/3m dive), Amelia Brown (100 back), and Cora Falvey (100 breast). The women also won the 200 medley relay (Brown, Cara Ralfe, Zwart, and de Santana Guidry) and the 200 free relay (Brown, de Santana Guidry, Robson, and Zwart).

On the men's side, it was Knut Robinson (1650/500 free), Matias Tapia (200 free/200 IM), Noah Smith (100 back/100 fly), Marcus Johnson (100/200 breast), Victor Gil (50/100 free), Danzhel Tuliao (200 fly), Dorian Taylor (1m dive), Zack Gresham (200 back), and Spencer Biggs (3m dive). The relay team of Smith, Johnson, Gresham, and Gil took the victory in the 200 medley relay, while in the 200 free relay, it was Gil, Fisher Kelly, Brayden Hunt, and Gresham.

Final Team Scores:
Women — The River 225 | St. Thomas 74
Men — The River 203 | St. Thomas 57

Up next for The River will be a quad meet with St. Thomas, Florida Tech, and Barry University at the campus of Florida Institute of Technology (Melbourne, FL) on Friday, October 24, starting at 1PM.
