Men's Basketball Dominates at Home

IRSC Men's Basketball hosted the first of two classics this weekend as they hosted SW Tennessee on Friday night and North Florida Prep on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers came away with and win over SW Tennessee on Friday 95-69. The Pioneers forced SW Tennessee into 25 turnovers and had 23 offensive rebounds on the night. Deng Majak led the way for the Pioneers with a double-double 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jayshayne Woodard also had a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Ocypher Owens added 15 points and 8 rebounds off the bench for the Pioneers. SW Tennessee was led by Nickolas Woodard who had 29 points on the night. Coach Morosco's thoughts on the game "SW Tennessee was very aggressive on defense and have a lot of great shooters that challenged us tonight. Coach Jarrett Stephens had his well prepared. Our guys did a great job rebounding the basketball, especially in the second half which helped us get the win tonight."

IRSC Men's Basketball wrapped up their classic Saturday with a win over North Florida Prep to improve to 3-0 on the year. The Pioneers forced a season high 27 turnovers and 30 offensive rebounds to get the win. Micah Octave led the way for the Pioneers with a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Ocypher Owens had a double-double of his own with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Mykol Sanchez contributed 16 points shooting 4-5 from three. North Florida Prep was led by Jaquwan Payton with 14 points. Coach Morosco's thoughts on the game "North Florida Prep never backed down, they are a talented group and shot the ball well especially in the first half. Our guys effort on the offensive glass was great today and helped us get the win."
