Pioneers Were Upset at Home Against Eastern

Indian River Pioneers out-hit Eastern eight to seven, but it wasn't enough in a 6-5 loss on Saturday.

The Pioneers opened up scoring in the first inning, when C Adams hit a solo homer.

With his hit, the Pioneers put up four runs in the fifth inning.  The offensive onslaught by Indian River State Pioneers was led by Cameron Carroll, D Starks, and Adams, who all drove in runs.

Khaden Washington was on the hill for Indian River State Pioneers. The lefthander went six innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out 12 and walking one.  CJ Williams threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Indian River State Pioneers hit two home runs on the day. Adams went yard in the first and fifth innings.

Indian River State Pioneers saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game.  Adams and C Gonzalez each racked up multiple hits for Indian River State Pioneers.  Gonzalez and Adams each collected two hits to lead Indian River State Pioneers

Second game Saturday

A walk-off left Indian River State Pioneers on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Eastern on Saturday.  The game was tied at four with Eastern batting in the bottom of the eighth when Zambrano singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one 

The Pioneers notched three runs in the sixth inning.  Indian River State Pioneers 's offense in the inning came from a sac fly by R Sanabria and a home run by M Montes.

Logan Wash started the pitching for pioneers, the lefty lasted six and a third innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out nine and walking zero.  Matthew Pizzarello threw two-thirds of an inning in relief.

Pioneers launched one home run on the day. Montes had a long ball in the sixth inning.

Carlos Lopez, Cameron Carroll, Montes, Sanabria, and C Gonzalez each managed one hit to lead Indian River State.
