Indian River Pioneers Stays Scrappy In Loss to Miami Dade Sharks

Despite a 4-run deficit in the ninth inning, Indian River State Pioneers almost came all the way back, eventually falling 9-8 Miami Dade College on Wednesday.  Indian River State Pioneers scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by David Hernandez and a passed ball during Cameron Carroll's at bat.

Indian River Pioneers was right in it until The Sharks homered in the eighth inning. The Pioneers got on the board in the first inning when C Adams hit a solo homer.

The Pioneers notched three runs in the ninth inning, Hernandez and Caroll led the River sending runners across the plate with RBIs. Jorge DeCardenas started the game for Pioneers, lasting six innings and allowing six hits and four runs while striking out four and walking one.  CJ Williams and Matthew Pizzarello entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

With the loss the Pioneers are currently 22 – 9 and 2 -4 in conference play. Next game will be Wednesday March 30th against South Florida State College
