IRSC Baseball defeats Eastern

Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity defeated Eastern Florida State College Titans 9-8 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at five with the River batting in the bottom of the sixth when Diego Arroyo's sac fly scored one run for Indian River.

Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity took the lead for good with four runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Cole Brutcher drew a walk, scoring one run, Jeremy Davis drew a walk, scoring one run, and Paul Benetez-Diaz drew a walk, scoring one run.

Joseph Clement earned the victory on the hill for Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on zero hits and striking out one. Zachary Audet, Christopher Astoske, and Darien Rorabeck all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Indian River State College Pioneers socked one home run on the day. Josh Shrouder put one out in the second inning.

The River saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Carter Chancey, Rj Diaz, and Shrouder all had multiple hits for Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity. Diaz and Chancey each collected three hits.

The Pioneers will be back in action on Friday April 5 for a rematch against Eastern.
