Baseball wins vs Kalamazoo Valley

Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity defeated Kalamazoo 7-6 on Monday thanks to a walk-off home run. The game was tied at six with The River batting in the bottom of the ninth when Cole Brutcher hit a solo homer. After Brutcher solo homer, the River scored four runs in the sixth inning. The momentum was in favor of thr River as Levi Aguila and Diego Arroyo hit singles and Josh Shrouder hit a double.

Christopher Astoske earned the victory on the hill for IRSC baseball by going three innings and only allowing one run on four hits, striking out two and walking zero. Ryan Benson threw five and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Matt Logullo started the game for the Pioneers and he went one-third of an inning, allowing four runs on one hit.

The outstanding hitting continues as the pioneers racked up ten hits total. Shrouder, Arroyo, and Aguila each collected multiple hits while Aguila, Arroyo, and Shrouder each managed two hits to lead the River to a season record of 11-10-1.
