Pioneers Complete Season Sweep of Palm Beach State

The Indian River State College Women's Volleyball team completed a conference-match sweep of Palm Beach State last night in a 3-0 victory (25-16, 25-21, 25-20), in one of the team's most complete team efforts of the season.

Sophomore Opposite Hitter Lindsay Glynn had a standout attacking performance, landing 15 kills while committing only two errors, for a monstrous .542 hitting percentage. Sophomore Outside hitters Jenna Erwin and McKenna Tyson contributed 9 kills and 7 kills respectively, while sophomore Middle Blockers Brittany Beckelheimer and Jacki Schmitz were solid in attack as well, chipping in 6 kills and 5 kills respectively.

Freshman Setter Jada Bivins continued her excellent defensively play of late, leading the team with 17 digs. Sophomore Libero Rebecca Sills defended 15 attacks, and Erwin added 10 digs.

The victory was an important one, giving the Pioneers momentum heading into their two final conference matches of the season; one against Broward College, in which a victory could clinch a second place finish in the conference and a berth into the State Tournament.
