Glynn Leads Pioneers in Sweep of State College of Florida

 Indian River State College swept the State College of Florida 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 26-24) in Bradenton on Friday. The Pioneers played very efficiently in the first two sets, putting away 15 kills and committing only two errors in the first set for an impressive .542 attack percentage. 

Sophomore Opposite Lindsey Glynn was a force at the net, picking apart the SCF defense en route to collecting 11 kills, and committing only one attack error throughout the match for a very efficient .588 clip.   She was also tied for the team lead in blocks alongside Sophomore Middle Blocker Jacki Schmitz, stuffing three attempts by SCF. Glynn also served 3 aces, and scored a match-high 14.5 points.

Sophomore Outside Hitter Jenna Erwin contributed 9 kills and 3 service aces and led the team with 16 digs, while Sophomore Outside Hitter McKenna Tyson collected 7 kills of her own.

Sophomore Rebecca Sills continued her solid play at the libero position, defending 15 digs, while Freshman Setter Jada Bivins distributed 29 assists, scored three service aces and defended seven of SCF's attacks.

The Pioneers are back in action Wednesday, and will get their first taste of conference play this season, as they host Palm Beach State College at 5:30pm.
