IRSC VOLLEYBALL TEAM NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-STARS

Members of the Indian River State College Volleyball team were named Academic All-Stars for achieving the highest grade-point average for any athletic team at the College during the Fall 2017 semester. The 14-member team earned an average 3.56 grade point average, resulting in the fifth consecutive year receiving the coveted recognition.

"The 'Academic All-Stars' designation recognizes the importance of academic achievement for athletes, and I'm proud to see our volleyball team receive this academic honor," said IRSC Athletic Director Scott Kimmelman.

The team thrived under the leadership of Head Coach Stephanie Skidmore and Assistant Coaches Tony Glessner and Jeff Hardman. Members Lindsay Glynn, Jordan Shoemaker and McKenna Tyson were designated to the 1st Team All Southern Conference team, while Rebecca Sills and Flavia Rostetter were designated to the 2nd Team All Southern Conference team.

The names and hometowns of the IRSC Volleyball team members are: Brittany Beckelheimer, Hialeah; Sarah Egbers, Apopka; Jenna Erwin, Orange Park; Lindsay Glynn, Stuart; Natalie Hoyos, Miami; Taylor Leander, Fort Pierce; Sydney Oglesby, Port St. Lucie; Essi Penttinen, Kouvola, Finland; Flavia Rostetter, Kerzers, Switzerland; Flavia Rusterholz, Rapperswil, Switzerland; Jordan Shoemaker, Ocala; Rebecca Sills, Stuart; Jackie Schmitz, Munster, Germany; Kaira Smith, Colorado Springs; and McKenna Tyson, Tampa.
