Women's Basketball Finishes Regular Season with 25 Wins

Monday Afternoon in Tampa, FL Indian River State College traveled to Hillsborough Community College in the final contest of Southern Conference play. The Pioneers dominated the first half outscoring the Hawks, 55-37. The Pioneers would go on to win 93-85, earning their 25th win of the season.

The Pioneers had five players in double digits, led by Rapuluchi Ngorka who scored 22 points and 20 rebounds. Shomari Phillips contributed 15 points and seven rebounds. Jasmine Peaks tallied 14 points, nine assists and four rebounds. Claire Simmons added 13 points and seven rebounds and Tavi Habib added 13 points.

"We came out putting on an offensive clinic, in the first half. In the second half I thought we relaxed and allowed HCC players to get hot from behind the arc. Overall we made some clutch stops and free throws to seal the game" Coach Robinson noted.

The Pioneers will have two weeks off before traveling to Niceville, FL for the Region 8 Tournament which takes place March 8th at Northwest Florida.
