Women’s Basketball Defeats DME

Wednesday evening in Fort Pierce, Indian River State College hosted DME Academy. At the start of the game DME led 18 – 17. At the start of the second half, The Pioneers outscored DME 17 – 8, holding them to a single digit quarter which Allowed the River to cruise to an 89 – 49 victory. "Early on in the game we came out passive, not getting the defensive stops we needed, at the start of the second half we woke up and finish the game strong" Coach Robinson noted. 

At the start of the third, Breanna Campbell came out on fire scoring 8 of her 19 points. Campbell would finish the game with eight assist, six rebounds and four steals. Maryanne Logsdon tallied 20 points, five assist and three rebounds. Freshmen Jaliyah Flowers scored a career high of 15 points and three rebounds. Shomari Phillips hot shooting continues she added 12 points and three rebounds.

With the Win, the Pioneers are 15 – 7, 3 – 1 in conference play. The Pioneers will be back in action Saturday January 29th at Florida Southwestern; Tipoff time is at Noon.
