IRSC Women’s Basketball on a three game winning streak

Friday Afternoon Indian River State College women's basketball team competed against top ranked Parkland College. In the first game of 2020 year, the River earned their third win in a row 87-75.

In today's matchup the River had five athletes score in double digits. Freshmen Maryanne Logsdon led all scorers with 21 points shooting an impressive 85 percent from the field and beyond the arc. Maryanne also shot 100% from the free throw while contributing three assist and two steals.

Je'Nya Wilder came off the bench scoring 15 point, eight rebounds, four steals and three assist. Loni Sales contributed 13 points, six rebounds three steals and assist. Freshmen Akiyonna Joiner and Breanna Campbell tallied 11 points apiece.

The River women's basketball had impressive team stats with a season high of 16 assist and a season low of 11 turnovers. While shooting a season high of 12 3's and going nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc. Pioneers also shot a season high of 73% from the free throw line.

"Today it felt good to be back home playing well, our hard work is paying off for us. We have talked about the importance of making shots and today we did that. I believe we are playing good basketball at the right time as we begin conference play Wednesday," Coach Robinson mentioned.
