Broward’s Hot Shooting Performance Dooms IRSC

IRSC Women's Basketball faced off against top seed Broward College in a home conference contest. The Broward Seahawks shot an impressive 42% from beyond the arc and 51% from the field which was a main factor in their 105-69 win over the Pioneers.

Four starters for the River contributed double digits points against Broward. Freshmen Leah Dunn has improved tremendously tallied another double- double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Kiandra Hooks added 14 points, sophomore Angelica Flores added 10 and freshmen guard Kayla Bell scored 12 points.

Intern Head Coach Marvin Braddy noted that "Defensively we struggled with their shooters and didn't commit to knowing where their shooters are at all times. We have another big test Saturday against Miami Dade, who are currently the top seed in conference. Hopefully defensively we come out stronger in our next game."

The River will travel to Miami on February 9th to take on Miami Dade at 2pm.
