IRSC Women’s Basketball Loses to Broward

Sunday afternoon IRSC Women's Basketball team traveled to Broward College to face the conferences second ranked team. The River overcame Broward's hot start entering into the second quarter down 6 points. For the game Broward hit 12 of 19 from beyond the arc propelling the Seahawks to a 92-66 win over IRSC.

Interim Head Coach Marvin Braddy said "This afternoon we fought hard as a team but we didn't do a great job defensively when it came to knowing where shooters were at all times. When Broward went into their press it caused us to turn the ball over and we lost our composure."

Freshmen point guard Kayla Bell led all scorers with 15 points. Sophomores Kiandra Hooks and Alexis Siler added 10 points apiece.

Indian River's next matchup is against Palm Beach State at home on Wednesday. The River lost by four points in the last matchup between the two teams when they played at Palm Beach State.
