On Wednesday afternoon IRSC Women's Basketball faced the conference's leading team Miami Dade in a home contest. After a slow start the River fought back to go into halftime down 14 points but couldn't endure a 3rd quarter run by Miami Dade in a 99 - 80 loss.
The River had four players score double digits. Sophomore guard Angelica Flores contributed 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Freshmen guard Jocelynn Small contributed 18 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assist. Sophomore point guard Kiandra Hooks added 13 points and freshmen forward Leah Dunn was two rebounds short of a double double with 11 points and 8 rebounds.
The River scored their highest amount of points this season but struggled to get stops defensively. The River now stands at 0 - 3 in conference play, as they prepare to travel to Broward College Sunday afternoon.
