IRSC Women’s Basketball sees improvement at Holiday Tournament

On Saturday evening, IRSC women's basketball program faced top ranked Florida Southwestern at Palm Beach State Holiday Classic. After a slow start the River suffered a 102-63 loss, however that loss doesn't justify the improvement IRSC women's basketball team shown. For the first time all year three players scored in double digits, sophomore Kiandra Hooks led all scorers with 18 points and 4 steals, while sophomore shooting guard Angelica Flores contributed 14 points and freshmen Jocelynn Smalls had a career high night with 14 points and 3 assist. The River also had a season low in turnovers with only 14 and 11 assist.

As their coach it was good to see players compete at a high level throughout the entire game."
