IRSC women’s basketball Fall to St. Pete at Home

On Monday night, Indian River State College Women's Basketball program suffers a 73-52 loss to Saint Petersburg College.  Within the first quarter the river was outscored 14 to 7 but overcame the scoring drought by outscoring SPC 21 to 18. Coach Robinson pointed out "throughout the first half the girls competed which resulted into us going into half time down 4 points. Being able to come out and execute the game plan throughout three quarters was a major success for us as a program."

Sophomore captain Kiandra Hooks lead the river in scoring with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals and center Alexis Siler was just short of a double double with 9 points and 8 rebounds.

The River will be back in action this weekend at the Florida Juco shootout at Florida Southwestern, as they compete against Gulf Coast State on Saturday at 6pm and Tallahassee Sunday at 1pm.
