IRSC Women’s Basketball drops two at Daytona State Classic

On Friday evening, the river displayed a strong start being up 20 points against Hillsborough Community College. Towards the second half things begin to shift for HCC causing them to win in overtime 71-64. Coach Robinson mentioned "we're beginning to understand what time of team we are and what it takes to compete and win at this level, I am truly proud of our fight throughout the whole game even though we left this game slip away."

Sophomore duo Kierra Patrick contributed a double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds and Kiandra Hooks added 13 points 6 rebounds and 6 assist.

On Saturday afternoon IRSC women's basketball program started the game being down by 4 in the first quarter to Daytona State. After a strong start the River went through a scoring drought and only scoring 12 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. Coach Robinson stated "our energy and effort was present all night, we was truly battling offensively and defensively. We failed to convert easy scoring opportunities which caused us to lose 81-50.

Sophomore forward Kierra Patrick Led the river in scoring with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

IRSC women's basketball program will be back in action Tuesday night at home vs College of Central Florida at 5:30pm
