Pioneer Softball Opens Season

CHARLOTTE, NC - Indian River State College softball opens season as the #10 ranked team in the land as announced by the NJCAA National Office on Monday. 

IRSC finished last season 47-12, finishing third in the FCSAA Region 8 Championship Tournament and ranked #11 in the final 2022 NJCAA Division I National Poll. The Pioneers amassed 47 wins on the season despite playing one of the toughest schedules in the country, defeating 10 nationally ranked teams. Offensively, the Pioneers return four All-Southern Conference players; Zoe Thornsbury BA 397-30 RBI's, Cassidy Patterson BA 392-19 stolen bases, Adriana Portanova BA 367-34 RBI's, and Cambrie Todd BA 342-27 RBI's. In the circle, IRSC returns Mackenzie Masternak and Emma Solis.

IRSC opens the 2023 season when they travel to Clearwater for the 2024 JUCO Kickoff Classic where they will take on Gulf Coast State College and Georgia Military on Friday. Then on Saturday, the Pioneers square off against Tallahassee Community College, South Carolina - Union and Parkland. IRSC's first home date is February 9th against South Florida State College.  Game times in Fort Pierce are 4:00 & 6:00.
