It came down to the bottom of the seventh, but unfortunately IRSC was on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to Florida Southwestern on Wednesday. An unfortunate walk-off HR was the difference in the tightly contested game. Pitching was strong on both sides with Alina Varga pitching all seven innings in the loss. Raelyn Roland delivered a clutch two RBI double to tie things up in the sixth inning, after consecutive hits by Adrianna Portanova Alina Varga. Game two saw trouble early on in the second inning with FSW scoring six. IRSC wasn't able to climb out of the hole and suffered a 9-0 loss.
The setbacks Wednesday leave Indian River currently in second place in the Southern Conference with important conference matchups this Friday vs Miami-Dade @HCC in Tampa (1:00pm) and next Wednesday @ Eastern Florida 4:00pm & 6:00pm
