Pioneers Post Two Shutout Victories Over Kalamazoo Valley (MI)

Dominique Prevette led IRSC to victory (8-0) in the pitcher's circle in Game 1 of the double header. The righty surrendered zero runs on two hits over four innings, striking out nine and walking one. Emma Solis threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen adding another strikeout to the team total. The offense racked up 13 hits in the game led by  Madison Knight, Zoe Thornsbury, Kylla Knier and Adrianna Portanova who all had multiple hits.

Game 2 featured another strong pitching performance from Alina Varga who surrendered zero runs on zero hits over four innings, striking out seven and walking one. Solis again entered in relief giving up just one hit in 3 to complete the shutout (7-0). Indian River totaled another nine hits in the contest including multiple hit performances by Bridget Dunham and Daija Torchia. Torchia also added six stolen bases in the game.

The Pioneers play next at home (March 7) vs South Florida (2:00pm & 4:00pm).
