Indian River Wins Two at South Florida

IRSC won both games of a double-header at South Florida State College on Wednesday.

Trailing 2-1 in the opening game of the night, IRSC scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to win 4-3.

IRSC starting pitcher Taylor Wroten tossed a complete game. Wroten allowed just three hits, one earned run, and struck out two.

Bridgett Dunham, Madison Knight, Cassidy Crump, Kelsie Ganci, and Raelyn Rowland each had hits for IRSC.

In game two IRSC once again had to come from behind scoring five runs in the of the eighth inning to win 9-4

Devan Ryan relieved starting pitcher Taylor Barrett in the fifth inning.  Ryan earned her sixth win on the season.

Meaghan Branche hit her third homerun on the season in the second inning. Dunham, Knight, and Nicolette Luzzi had multiple hits for IRSC.

The conference leading (9-1) Pioneers will travel to Eastern Florida on Wednesday.  Game times in Melbourne are scheduled for 4:00 and 6:00.
