Indian River Sweeps Sinclair Community College

Indian River State College women's softball team won both games in a double-header yesterday in Ft. Pierce against Sinclair Community College of Ohio.  IRSC took game one 3-1 and won game two 9-6.

In the game one win freshman pitcher Jaden Williamson (11-0) allowed just four hits in her complete game win. Ramsy Phillips went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Pioneers in hits.

 In game two IRSC pulled away for good scoring five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Tayler Owen tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, Shayne Hewitt singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, and Jaden Williamson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Freshman pitcher Taylor Wroten (11-1) got the win for IRSC.

 Brooke Mathews, Wroten, Macie Stanfield, Williamson, Owen, Ranmsy Phillips and Hewitt had hits for the Pioneers. 

IRSC (28-1) returns to the diamond on Friday taking on conference rival Broward College.  Game times in Ft. Pierce are 1:00 & 3:00.  Games played at the IRSC Softball Complex, admission is free.
