Indian River Sweeps Daytona State

In game one the Pioneers put up seven runs in the second inning on its way to a 12-3 victory. The offense in the inning was led by Tayler Owen, Taylor Wroten, Macie Stanfield and Brooke Mathews, all driving in runs in the big inning

Freshman pitcher Taylor Wroten raised her season record to 3-0. She tossed four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out seven and walking one.

Freshman Macie Stanfield hit her second homerun of the season, a two run shot in the third.

The Pioneers tallied 13 hits in the game. Kirsty Granville, Shayne Hewitt, Stanfield, and Mathews all had multiple hits to pace the offense in the game one win. 

In game two Freshmen Jaden Williamson (3-0) and Macie Stanfield combined to shutout the Falcons.

IRSC broke the game open scoring five runs in the fifth inning. Ramsy Phillips Williamson, Taylor Wroten, and Maeghan all drove in runs in the five run inning.

Starting pitcher Jaden Williamson allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight.

IRSC racked up 11 hits in the game.  Phillips, Morgan Roberts, and Brooke Mathews had multiple hits for "The River."

IRSC hopes to continue its perfect season on Friday as the Pioneers take on Hillsborough Community College on Friday in the team's home opener in Ft. Pierce.  Game times are 1:00 & 3:00.
